We seen the return of cookery in September 2020 and even though it’s a little bit different, the lads were still able to produce fabulous Brownies on their first attempt!

Brownies
5oz Butter
2oz Cocoa Powder
8oz Brown/ Caster Sugar
2 Eggs
2oz Plain Flour
1 tsp Vanilla Essence
2 1/2 oz Chopped Nuts (Optional)
Method
1. Wash hands prior to starting
2. Weigh out all ingredients
3. Place butter, cocoa powder and sugar into a saucepan and heat gently on a low heat until the butter starts to melt, stirring so the sugar and cocoa do not burn or stick to the pan.
If using a microwave place in a microwave proof dish and heat for 1minute plus more if necessary
4. Let the chocolate mixture cool down a little
5. Break the eggs and beat together with a fork or whisk
6. Add the eggs a little at a time and mix them in thoroughly before adding a little more. Continue this process until all the egg is added.
7. Sieve in the flour and fold in to combine thoroughly.
8. Add the vanilla essence and mix well.
9. Add chopped nuts here if desired.
10. Pour into a prepared tin, lined with parchment paper and cook in a moderate oven approx 160 degrees Celsius and bake for approx 15-20 mins or until the edges start coming away from the side of the baking tray.
Enjoy 🤗
